Budget, bonding pass vote; lowest voter turnout in 11 years
WILTON - Wilton's 2009 $107,582,997 budget and two school bonding issues passed easily but with the lowest voter turnout in the last 11 years.
Only 8.6 percent - 947 of the 10,993 eligible voters - cast ballots on Tuesday, May 6, and on Saturday, May 10.
Approximately two thirds of the voters, 628, approved the budget with 309 residents voting it was too high. Nine voters said the budget was too low.....more
